Description of Process for this Submission
The large letter P was cut out of Cardboard. The studio I work in has a limited supply of letterpress so I have used most of the type available to me.
When I made the letter I imbedded gaskets from my car repairs as well as using carborundum and cutting to create lines within the letter. I made my own textured roller by wrapping waxed thread around the rollers to ink up the large letter creating a surface of different coloured lines. I use sticky back plastic to place the wooden type over the large collagraph P to enable me to create curves with the wood type. The print has gone through several stages of printing with the ink drawing being the final layer.
There is poetry which is exhibited alongside the art work. As a child my family were big fans of Muhamed Ali which is refelcted in the poem
