A representation of a black ampersand in Grotesque Bold Extended using cyan, magenta and yellow dot screens printed from my set of dot wood type. The dot types are an experiment to see if I could make images emulating the dot screens used in commercial litho printing. The dots are on a 72pt body and consist of 25 sizes ranging from tiny to solid. Each of the colour separations were generated using Adobe Photoshop and then translated to wood type. I hope to some day get the set of dots cast in metal on a 36pt body. The perception of the image in the resulting print is best viewed from afar.
